Nesse quadro de ausência de contato, só restou à ela fantasiar um pai poderoso, viril e sedutor! Cresceu com esse modelo interno de homem. Paralelamente desenvolveu, inconscientemente, sensação de rejeição e impotência emocional. Ficou uma mulher insegura. Quando adulta, procurou homens que se enquadrassem no modelo do pai. Não tinham maturidade emocional suficiente para bancar uma relação saudável e encarar a vida. Por cinco anos, Carolina conseguiu se manter fiel a essa paixão. Caso raro de acontecer. Ela fez muitos sacrifícios tentando não estragar o sonho de ser feliz com Mateus. Afinal, foi o único em que ela apostou de verdade! A rotina de um casamento pede uma estrutura psíquica pra sustentar os problemas do dia-dia. O pior de tudo isso foi a enorme expectativa que Carol depositou em Mateus. Ele, dentro de seus escassos recursos culturais e de formação profissional, fazia o possível. Não conseguia bancar a vida com dignidade. Ser o provedor do lar e agradar essa mulher-criança. Ela, por sua vez, queria viver num castelo encantado, como havia sonhado. Esse aspecto infantil fez com que eles não “arregaçassem as mangas” e fossem à luta. Batalhassem os projetos da vida. Não conseguiram mudar. Nem crescer. Carolina retornou às conquistas baratas e supérfluas. Achava que dessa forma a vida ficaria mais leve e divertida. Não queria responsabilidades! A sedução era a arma mais certeira que tinha contra os homens. “Eles que sofressem”. Mereciam sofrer. O Mateus continuava apaixonadíssimo por ela. Ultimamente ele estava sentindo Carolina muito estranha. Calada. Com um brilho novo no olhar. Ficou desconfiado! Coitado do Mateus! Transparecia em sua imagem o medo de perder o seu amor. Mas ele se achava um homem forte. Macho! Tinha que tirar isso a limpo. Numa tarde, fingindo estar no trabalho, resolveu checar seus temores. Esperou Carolina ir à academia. Sorrateiramente a seguiu. Dirigindo o seu carro com pernas trêmulas e suando frio! Tinha maus pressentimentos. Conseguiu não ser visto por ela. DEUS! Não podia acreditar em que seus olhos estavam vendo!!! E agora??? O TERREMOTO ACONTECEU!!!
